La Marzocco are one of the most trusted commercial coffee machine producers on the market today, and they have been for a very long time, they also have many many machine models to choose from like the GB5, FB80 and FB70, but today’s piece will be about the Linea series, specifically the time tested Linea Classic and the Linea PB, the heavy duty workhorse.

First let’s discuss the highly recognisable and truly time tested La Marzocco Linea Classic!

The Linea Classic has been in the Australian market for over 20 years and in those 20 years it has continuously provided the industry with undeniable support and high quality coffee. Due to this the Linea Classic is instantly

recognisable to customers by its straight lines and their stainless brushed finished body, and known by baristas for its classic integrated volumetric touchpads and its manual brew button, for those who like a little more control over their coffee brewing process.

The Linea Classic however has more than just its looks going for it! This commercial espresso coffee machine is also full of great features, to ensure that you are always producing the best coffee that you can.

One of these features are the dual insulated boilers, not only does the Linea Classic come with dual boilers, one for brewing and one for steam, these boilers are also insulated to ensure that temperature stability is never lost through the whole coffee making process. The dual boilers also optimise your brewing and steam production ensuring that you are able to stay on top of your heavy workload!

The Linea Classic also comes equipped with a PID temperature control system and Saturated group heads. PID temperature controls are electronic and are run by an algorithm to help the barista get the correct and optimal brew temperature! The PID can adjust the temperature accurately within 0.5 of a degree, meaning that you can work your machine in the exact way you want!

Next, the saturated group heads! Saturated group heads ensure unsurpassed thermal stability, shot after shot, used in conjunction with the PID and the dual insulated boilers, you can be sure that you and your barista are always producing the perfect shot from your La Marzocco Linea Classic!

The La Marzocco Linea Classic comes in a 1, 2, 3 or 4 group model and can be made in a volumetric (AV), semi automatic (EE), and mechanical paddle (MP) versions! This means that you will always get the machine that is best for you when you purchase a La Marzocco Linea Classic!

Next let’s discuss the heavy duty workhorse, the La Marzocco Linea PB!

The La Marzocco Linea PB is La Marzocco’s answer for a more modern Linea Classic! The Linea PB takes all the much loved features of the Linea Classic and adds a few little extras such as a dual PID,firmware upgrades and an eco mode!

The La Marzocco Linea Classic also comes equipped with dual insulated boilers and saturated group heads however the Linea PB comes with dual PID systems, one for boiler temperature and one for steam rather than the one that the Linea Classic had!

The Linea PB has a feature called ‘Eco Mode’ which means that this machine can be programmed to enter a stand-by mode during non busy and closing times, meaning that you will be saving energy! As the Linea PB is a more modern machine than the Linea Classic, it comes with updatable firmware, meaning that your machine can be updated as La Marzocco comes out with ways to improve efficiency of a machine’s software. Your Linea PB will not fall behind the times!

The Linea PB also comes with stainless steel portafilters and precision baskets for improved shot quality and consistency, an auto back flush program for simple automatic cleaning and an LED digital display. The LED digital display shows your temperature, flow pulse counters and shot timers, it also simplifies your programming, meaning that you can programme your machine in the exact way that you want to, adjustments have never been so easy!

The La Marzocco Linea PB comes in either a 2, 3 or 4 group model and either volumetric (AV) or mechanical paddle (MP) versions.

Another amazing feature with both the La Marzocco Linea Classic and La Marzocco Linea PB is that they are fully customisable as pictured below! The picture below is a demonstration of some of the colours that you could get your Linea Classic custom painted to!
